Entries are now open for the Cardiff Business Awards 2019

The fifth annual Cardiff Business Awards have been launched this week, with businesses across the capital given the opportunity to gain recognition for their achievements over the last 12 months.

Launched in 2015, the Cardiff Business Awards have grown in prestige and importance to become firmly established as one of the leading business awards, not just in Cardiff, but throughout the whole of Wales.

Luis Sanz, Managing Director of Celsa Steel UK, winner of the overall Business of the Year 2018, commented: “Hard work and perseverance. If the basic core of your business idea is good, these two things will deliver success.”

This is precisely what the awards are all about.

With overall sponsorship by NatWest, the Cardiff Business Awards 2019 are open to organisations that can demonstrate strong financial performance, innovation and exceptional customer experiences on a consistent basis.

Other sponsors to date include: Cardiff Council, Cardiff Metropolitan University, CPS Group, Eversheds Sutherland, ICAEW, Spectrum Internet, University of South Wales, Welsh Government and Yard.

Liz Brookes, co-founder of the Cardiff Business Awards, managing director of Grapevine Event Management, the leading awards management company in Wales commented:

“The Welsh capital continues to outperform and exceed all expectation when it comes to business.

“Since we launched the awards, we have been continually impressed with the high quality and high growth of many of the capital’s businesses, from fast growing start-ups to those more established organisations. Collectively, these organisations play a key role in driving both the capital and wider regional economy.”

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, Chair of the Judging panel, said:

“Cardiff is greatly benefitting from a level of investment not seen before, this truly is an exciting time to be a business in the capital. These awards will serve to celebrate and recognise the best businesses in the city and the people who make them what they are.”

Barry Evans, Regional Director and member of the NatWest Cymru Board, said:

“As longstanding supporters of the Cardiff Business Awards we are delighted to be supporting this year’s event and once again recognising the pioneering entrepreneurship and success of Wales’ capital city and the businesses that make-up its thriving economy. It has been hugely successful year for Cardiff, one in which businesses at every level and across multiple sectors have achieved so much. Our support and commitment to these businesses has never been greater with over £500m lent by the bank to support their growth. Cardiff is the success it is because of these businesses and the ecosystem that supports them, we very much look forward to continuing to support them in 2019.”
