Why did you enter the Cardiff Business Awards?
We have entered a couple of times before and had not won the category and this time round I felt we had really excelled in our growth as a business so thought if this wasn’t the time it would never be. Thankfully we won!
What did winning mean for you or your business?
It was great recognition of our hard work as a business and that gave us more credibility to our customers given this high accolade. I was over the moon and still have the award taking pride of place in our showroom.
What did you think of the awards ceremony?
Loved it! Well organised and great fun!
What’s been a challenge for you or your business during the last year and how did you overcome it?
We had planned to grow and doubled our turnover quickly. We have a target to increase to £3.1million this year so that will be triple growth in 3 years! With this comes stress with new staff, new costs and systems to manage stock etc. Thankfully with the stress has come rewards. Price increases were among the biggest stresses and managing increase of overheads with growth. Also marketing strategies/new products and costs were increased to help with the growth
What’s been a highlight for you or your business over the last year and why?
Massive growth and winning Cardiff business Awards. A big sense of achievement!
What are your goals for 2023?
To increase from £2.2 million to £3.1 million and we have the staff levels to get to the next level. With this growth comes stresses with managing accuracy in all areas of the business and waste. More important to ensure accuracy and cost efficiency on all levels. We’ve taken new software to streamline all areas of our business and help with the operational side.
Whats the best thing about running a business in the Cardiff?
Cardiff is a great place for us. We have a great name and our customers tend to be from more affluent areas. There seems to be lots of wealthy areas and our customers understand that you get what you pay for. We aren’t cheap but we do a great job and offer a great after care. These points seem to hold great value in Cardiff. We also love the City.
